The Supreme Court upheld the so-called partial birth abortion ban today. SCOTUS Blog has a good recap.
It's hard not to be afraid of a conservative court that not only tells us WHAT we may do with our pregnancies, but HOW doctors may treat them. Particularly scary is the lack of a health exception for the mother, one of the hallmarks of abortion restrictions in USSC jurisprudence.
So much for "Kennedy is the new O'Connor."
I'm making a donation to Planned Parenthood and NARAL today--I hope everyone who is as concerned about their civil rights to do the same.
